Our 2 Day gold tour on Private property in the Sofala area, just near Bathurst NSW.

DATES: Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April 2025

General Information:

This is a guided tour where you either get some help or just cut loose and start covering ground. Its sheep country so there are only a few trees and the ground is reasonably easy to walk. We do have places here where it is very flat and can be accessed by almost anyone.

Please be aware that as this is a working property no dogs are allowed on the tour.

.Accommodation:

 There are Not a lot of Options as far as paid accomodation in Sofala.
BUT There is Tons of free camping by the river. You'll get your van in.
Also Sofala showground is available if you contact the show society.

There are a couple of air BNB Options and Bathurst is just 30 Minutes away.

HINT: Do this straight after booking your ticket as it can get busy out there sometimes.

Having a Feed:

You'll Need to cater for yourself. The Sofala Cafe is Open on weeknds as is the general store. Dinner options are not there.

You will need to bring your meals including Lunch for the duration of the tour and Dinner if you come early on Friday Night. Don't forget a few snacks too.

Bring your own Drinking Water too please, we will have some to keep you alive of course but it can be hard work so Hydration is very important. 
Usually an 8 Pack of the 1.5 Litre bottles from the supermarket is plenty.

The Property:

The property is over a few blocks so depending on Weather etc we will choose the beat blocks for the day. All are old diggings and have a history of gold.
As we say you won't kick it out of the ground, but with some work the gold is certainly there.

A 4x4 Will help, with access to the property. But don't worry we can ferry you in with our tour vehicles or you can hitch a ride with a fellow prospector. 
Getting to the accommodation is "sealed" road, Please drive to conditions as the roads are pretty battered.
BEWARE WILDLIFE!

As with all tours we can't guarantee you'll find gold, but we will do our best to get you onto it.

We Aim to make you a better detectorist by the end of the tour and all our training and help is included on the tour, free of charge of course. There will be time for one on one sessions if needed.
